Dr. Poon 46 Week Update

It's been 46 weeks and I am still going. I hope all of you who write, e-mail and leave comments are also on a roll. If not pull your socks up and get back to it. You'll thank me later. Ok I'll admit I was good but not extremely good because of Easter. I did enjoy half a Portuguese cupcake and some chocolate during Easter lunch at my mother in-laws. I thought I was going to go in there and be disappointed but no I lost another 2 pounds and 1 pound of fat. Both Dr. Terry Poon and I are happy with my progress and I am at a total of 71 pounds gone.

I can not begin to tell you how great this feeling is. I am starting to notice huge changes in my body. I certainly need to go out and buy more new items to keep me going. I put on a pair of pants that I purchased maybe 4 months ago and they are way too big. I feel them falling off. What an awesome feeling is that. My legs are not rubbing together to the point where it hurts. I can walk and not even touch the next leg. If you have this problem you know exactly what I am talking about.

I know most of you follow me and my story and know that I have my own set goal of meeting my husband's same exact weight. I am only 12 pounds away. I can totally do this and when I do he needs to pick me up and throw me over his shoulder like he use to. I'll tell him all about it when I finally get there. I don't want him worrying about having to pick me up until we finally get there. Right now I am most likely smaller than what I got married at. I really do not remember what my weight was at that time. I have been feeling the need to take out my (cleaned and preserved) wedding dress and put it on. I am scared that I will ruin it, I know who the heck is going to wear it. No one I can assure you on that one. I still to this day love it but can remember having a hard time as a plus sized bride having to find the perfect dress. It wasn't that they did not offer them it was more the fact that the shop attendants were a little (a lot) hard on me for being plus sized. I even got one that asked my (tiny) sister to try on the samples instead of me the bride. My sister ended up telling me to put on my clothes and we walked out. I am thankful for having people behind me every step of the way. I have many people in my life that support me at any size. You will also know who are your true supporters.

I better get going as it's Ethan's day off of daycare and he is causing as much trouble as he possibly can while I am typing. Oh well, nothing a little vim won't clean. lol

I am so proud of you, Vern. I lost 50 last year but another pregnancy where I was very hungry then the depressing following from yet another loss ... most of it creeped back up. I wish they had something like that here. Sounds like a great program.

@ Mellisa - 50 pounds is great. I know bumps in the road leave you at a different place but you too can do this program. Just as long as you can eat regular food. That's all this plan is. I am willing to help you. E-mail me designsbyveronica@rogers.com or call me. I think you might still have my number.

Hello. I found your blog last spring. I started to follow it, because you are a fellow Ontarionian (sp?). Anyway, I liked looking at your flower pictures and then I became interested in following your weight loss. You should be so proud of yourself! You are an inspiration to me; I have lost 30 - 40 pounds this year, and on days like today when I feel as though I have fallen off the wagon and can't get back on - I find that your story helps to keep me going. Love your recipies as well.
Good for you!!!

Hi, Veronica

Congratulations on your weightloss, you have became my idol. I just started my poon diet a few days ago, and I have to say, it is soooooo hard. I have a blog too [ piggit.blogspot.com ] where I blog my diet, drop by sometime to see if i'm eating the right food.

@ Barbara - I am glad to see that you like both the floral and the diet info. I was worried that some might find it bothersome to have both on here. The whole point of this blog is that it is all about me, my life, my family, my friends. I have tons of floral pictures to post up so you'll have sometihing nice to look at as well next time you stop by.

30 - 40 pounds!!!!!!! That is awesome. Keep up the great work! Thanks for letting me know about your weight loss.

Good Luck!

Thank you for the kind words. I look forward to seeing more comments from you.

Hugs

P.S. It gets really easy. Before you know it this will be like second nature to you. Don't worry everyone has a hard time in the begining.

Wow!!! You are totally inspiring. I found your blog from the Dr. Poon facebook page. I am starting the program this week on my own. I am very nervous. Eating has been the hardest part of losing weight for me. Your recipes look really good and have inspired me. It has also helped reassured my husband that he won't starve. He doesn't need to lose weight but I need his full support. I am hoping that to get pregnant in the near future so I figure I will just try to lose weight and improve my eating habits until then. I am in a running group and run 3 times per week so I hope that will help me lose the weight!

@ Clare, I can't wait until Croptopia. I really need the break. I am just concerned for my diet. I guess I can only eat what I can but being stranded really worries me. lol

I haven't received any e-mails from you at all. I will e-mail you tonight.

@ Tracy, I honestly thought this would be harder than it is. I found that the first couple of weeks are confusing and getting use to what you can eat and what you can't is sometimes hard. Now being 46 weeks in changes things. I can't believe I now can shop at LaSenza again for bras and am able to go into regular stores (you know the ones that do not have PLUS in their name) and shop.

You too can totally do this. Whenever you have having a hard day just think back to your first couple of weeks on Poon and it's all worth it or just come back on my blog and read. This is a whole new wonderful world of the new me and can totally be the wonderful world of Tracy....too!!!!
